OUR MISSION
Soundtrack Community Development & Talent Enhancement, Inc. is dedicated to helping young people living in the south side Chicago area to understand that they do have a chance to see a better future and that there are many more career opportunities for them in the world today outside of their communities. We want to help them build foundations through the performing arts and develop various skills that will give them the sense of hope and accomplishment.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- Increase positive character development within each individual
- Provide gratification and education during each workshop class
- To expand their vision inside and outside of their community
- To help each individual to build a foundation that will support their individual career choice
WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT
These communities are in dire need of this type of facility since the Chicago public school system provides very little extra-curricular activity in the performance arts to most of its students and opportunities for artistic expression are very limited for these youth. For over 35 years, there hasn’t been a performance arts center or YMCA, or Boys & Girl Club and no community center (larger than a storefront) in the area. The performing arts art campus will be a 24-hour facility and open to everyone. Admittance to the center will be on a sliding scale basis, but NO ONE will be left out.
